Every year, Wilbur-Ellis, through its Impact Funds program, allocates funds for employee-driven contributions that benefit the communities where its employees live and work. Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed Division recently donated $3,500 Canadian Dollars to the Windy City Canine Rescue Society, a dog shelter based in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, that helps older dogs in need of a new home find their perfect family. Wilbur-Ellis’ donation will cover the shelter’s operational costs for an entire month.

Every year, Wilbur-Ellis, through its Impact Funds Program, allocates funds for contributions that benefit the communities where its employees live and work. These Impact Funds can create a sizable effect within these localities. Recently, Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division donated $2,150 to Silver Buckle Ranch to assist in sponsoring one teen for a six-week long Teen Wrangler course, grounds maintenance around the ranch and aid in the purchase of a newer tractor to replace the existing 1964 model.

Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division recently donated $5,000 to the Imperial Valley Food Bank (IVFB) to assist the organization in reaching its goal of being fully funded before ground breaking. The project is currently 86% funded.

Cavallo Ventures, the venture capital arm of Wilbur-Ellis, announced today an investment in Beta Hatch, a Seattle, Washington-based company industrializing the production of insects as a sustainable protein for animal feed. This is Cavallo Ventures’ first investment in the feed industry.
