At Wilbur-Ellis, safety has always been of the utmost importance. We owe it to ourselves, our partners and, of course, our customers to ensure the highest level of care is taken to ensure the quality we are known for remains a part of our DNA. This is why—over the past year—the Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition team has made some big moves and investments to expand our commitment to meeting Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory standards and both identify and close any potential for actual or perceived process gaps along the way.

As the heat of the summer fades and the morning air turns crisp, students all over the country are settling into a new year of reading lists and homework. That’s right; it’s back to school time. But this year, three students return with a renewed appreciation for their chosen majors and a better understanding of the career path their lessons could lead to following an exciting, hands-on summer interning with the Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition team.

Petfood Forum USA is the pet food industry's most widely attended and valuable event for companies focused on how pet food and treats are formulated, processed, packaged and distributed. Attendees have the opportunity to join other pet food professionals from around the world to network, exchange ideas, conduct business and strengthen relationships.

Cavallo Ventures, Inc., the venture capital arm of Wilbur-Ellis, a leading international marketer and distributor of agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients, announced today an investment in Performance Livestock Analytics (PLA), the Ames, Iowa, based producer of livestock analytics software Performance Beef™.

Every year, Wilbur-Ellis, through its Impact Funds Program, allocates funds for contributions that benefit the communities where its employees live and work. These Impact Funds can create a sizable effect within these localities. Recently, Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division donated $2,150 to Silver Buckle Ranch to assist in sponsoring one teen for a six-week long Teen Wrangler course, grounds maintenance around the ranch and aid in the purchase of a newer tractor to replace the existing 1964 model.

Every year, Wilbur-Ellis, through its Impact Funds Program, allocates funds for contributions that benefit the communities where its employees live and work. These Impact Funds can create a sizable effect within these localities. Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division recently donated $5,000 to the Imperial Valley Food Bank (IVFB) to assist the organization in reaching its goal of being fully funded before ground breaking. The project is currently 86% funded.

Every year, Wilbur-Ellis, through its Impact Funds Program, allocates funds for contributions that benefit the communities where its employees work and live. These Impact Funds can create a sizable impact, and over the course of 2017, Wilbur-Ellis’ Feed division donated $35,000 to various local charities in Holtville, California; Halfway, Oregon; Portland, Oregon; Ogden, Utah; Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; and Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Cavallo Ventures, the venture capital arm of Wilbur-Ellis, announced today an investment in Beta Hatch, a Seattle, Washington-based company industrializing the production of insects as a sustainable protein for animal feed. This is Cavallo Ventures’ first investment in the feed industry.
